As always lets start our analysis from the
Newbuildings front. Maersk have increased their MR orders to six at sungdong,
costing $35 mill apiece while navig8 have declared two more options for VLCC’s
at SWS (they now have six there) costing abt $93 mill each.
MOSK went to minami
Nippon for three 45,000 dwt methanol carriers and two of those will be on long
TC to AMPCO while Tokyo LNG agreed with JMU to build two 165,000 cbm tri fuel
LNG ships both will be working off cove point USA for 20 years! DSME got a huge
order for 12 VLGC’s from two Chinese buyers, Shandong
shipping and china peace, each costs $78 mill while Tianjin southwest maritime has exercised an
option for another VLGC in jiagnan (so 3 in total) costing $69 mill! Aurora also ordered two
more VLGC’s at Hyundai and have further options pending!
Tomasos went to avic weihai for two 37,000
dwt bulkers while atlantska providba went to qingshan for two option one 63,000
dwt ultramaxes (they have also two handies there). Sinotrans agreed to build
two 78,000 dwt bulkers at jiagnan for $29 mill each and four ultramaxes at
chengxi, they have another four ultramaxes at jinling ordered for $25,8 mill
each. Cardiff
returned to yangzijiang for two more newcastlemaxes (they have 6 in that yard
and another 4 in SWS), chenxi won 5 more ultramaxes from shangdong landbridge,
costing $28 mill each and SDTR marine ordered 6 kamsarmaxes at jinling costing
$28 mill each. Wisdom went back to namura for two kamsarmaxes costing $34 mill
each (they have 37 bulkers on order in various Japanese yards!!!) while Ceylon
shipping went to avic weihai for two firm 64,000 dwt bulkers costing $28 mill
each. Damico exercised options for two ultramaxes and two handies at yangfan,
their orderbook there is 8 ultramaxes and 11 handysizes!!!
Lets proceed with the 2nd dry
sales. The ‘guiseppe rizzo’ CSBC 77,000 dwt built 04 got $18 mill, the ‘utopie’
75,000 dwt built 08 hudong was sold at an auction for $22 mill while canfornav
paid $9 mill for the ‘pochard’ 37,000 dwt built 03 china 4x40. Anbros paid $23
mill for the ‘top eternity’ 76,000 dwt built 05 japan while modion spent $43
mill to acquire enbloc the ‘top courage / pos dignity’ both 76,000 dwt built 04
japan. The ‘orsolina bottiglieri’ 75,000 dwt built 01 japan got $19 mill, the
‘aquarosa’ 56,000 dwt built 10 china 4x30 fetched $21,5 mill and the ‘sky
mariner V’ 54,000 dwt built 05 japan 4x30 got $22 mill. The ‘tropical queen’
52,000 dwt built 05 tsuneishi cebu 4x30 got $21 mill while entrust paid $12
mill for the ‘livanita’ 44,000 dwt built 97 japan 4x30. Eurobulk paid $21,5
mill for the ‘million trader II’ 76,000 dwt built 04 japan, giavridis paid
$21,6 mill for the ‘triton stork’ 56,000 dwt built 04 japan 4x30 and the three
sisters ‘top island/top harmony/top freedom’ all 55,000 dwt built 06/05/05
japan 4x30 got committed for $70 mill enbloc! The ‘west fortune’ 28,000 dwt built 09 japan
4x30 got $17,5 mill while the ‘pacific elfin’ 35,000 dwt built 01 japan 4x30
got $14 mill from firodi.
Lets finish off with the wet sales. The news
of the month is that trafigura is selling their whole fleet of GSI built MR’s
(3 trading and 6 on order!)The ‘elise schulte’ 106,000 dwt built 99 japan got
$12 mill while thenamaris paid $25,5 mill for the ‘garden city river’ 106,000
dwt built 05 japan. BLT paid $13 mill for the coated ‘maersk prime’ 110,000 dwt
built 99 china. The two sisters ‘pacific harmony /pacific bravery’ both 69,000
dwt built 99 japan crude got $8,3 mill each from different buyers while Chinese
paid $25,2 mill for the ‘nichihiko’ 280,000 dwt built 99 japan double hull. The
stainless ‘bow americas’
20,000 dwt built 04 japan fetched $22 mill.
