The ordering of new ships continues without
pause.. Sincere navigation agreed with SWS to build two capes costing $47 mill
each while oldendorff agreed with samjin two more 36,000 dwt handies making
their total order there four ships and two ultramaxes in japan united. Aquavita
through a lease agreement has ordered two 39,000 dwt handies in chengxi while
fednav went to oshima for six 34,000 dwt ice class handies. Hyundai mipo won an
order from atlantic bulk carriers in Greece for three 57,000 dwt supramaxes for
construction in vinashin while wisdom agreed with tsuneishi zhoushan to build
two kamsaramaxes for $28 mill each one 35,000 dwt handy in the same yard.
Laskaridis ordered six 64,000 dwt bulkers in penglai jinglu, two option two
kamsarmaxes and bought two panamax resales from the same yard too! Oceanbulk
agreed an 8 year BBHP scheme with new yangzijiang for up to four 64,000 dwt
bulkers with purchase obligation at the end plus it has 4 options as straight
newbuild orders too. Safe bulkers went to sasebo for two 77,000 dwt panamaxes
costing $28 mill each while Eitzen with various investors has gone to guoyu for
nine 38,000 dwt log fitted handysizes costing $21 mill each.
Reederei nord went to Guangzhou wenchong
for three 2500 teu containers costing $28 mill each while heung A agreed with
kyokyuo for one more 1100 teu container costing $20 mill.
The impressive news is that scorpio has
exercised 16 options for tankers (8 lr2’s, 4 mr’s and 4 ice class handies) and
they now control 52 nb’s! moreover they stated that they wont any more tankers
for now but they might set up a dry bulk affiliate and order dry vessels now!!!
Trafigura went to GSI for four option four MR’s and last xmas they bought 3
modern 2nd hand MR’s for $64 mill. Finally Damico exercised two options for MR’s
in Hyundai vinashin.

dry sales. Jiuzhou paid $10 mill for the ‘hai shi’ 172,000 dwt built 97 while
the ‘penda bulker’ 76,000 dwt built 05 got $17,5 mill and the ‘mega donor’
73,000 dwt built 97 fetched $8,5 mill. Greeks paid $13,6 mill for the ‘ancash
queen’ 46,000 dwt built 2002 4x30 basis del
xmas. Diana paid $20 mill for the ‘shoyo’ 77,000 dwt built 06 while the
‘shohoo’ 88,000 dwt built 95 got $6,5 mill. Frangistas paid $19 mill for the
‘ocean shanghai’ 76,000 dwt built 06 while the ‘asian glory’ 45,000 dwt built

hand wet transactions. The ‘HS elektra’ 105,000 dwt built 98 got $9 mill while
navios paid $17 mill each for the ‘orange express / kuroshio express’ both
48,000 dwt built 05 pumproom type. The ‘pacific oasis’ 47,000 dwt built 04
pumproom got $17 mill while the ‘atlantic lutetia’ 35,000 dwt built 99 deepwell
got $10 mill. The ‘high energy’ 47,000 dwt built 04 pumproom got $16,5 mill
while the ‘nordstrength’ 105,000 dwt built 98 got $8,5 mill. Last but not least
the ‘kamari I’ 163,000 dwt built 91 got $10 mill!
