As always lets begin from the new orders front… there has been a rush of orders recently due to the aggressive marketing of nearly all the Korean yards..we are hearing VLCC’s at sub 80 mill, suezmaxes at 51-52 mill, afras at 42-43 mill etc lets hope that we don’t see too many orders are already this year is overburdened with tanker deliveries of all sizes and especially VL’s.  DHT just ordered two VL’s at Hyundai for $79 mill and also hearing enesel might have done a similar deal…

fujuki kisen agreed with HMD to build a since 50,000 dwt product tanker for $31 mill whereas sumitomo won an order for two afras from unreported greek owners. Sanoyas won orders for one kamsarmax, one ferry and two ultramaxes and namura won an order for two handies from M maritime for $21 mill each.

Lets proceed with the secondhand dry sales. The ‘n fos’ 180,000 dwt built 10 korea got $22 mill, the resale 63,000 dwt ex dayang got $18,5 mill from eastmed and M maritime paid $23,6 mill for another 62,000 dwt resale ex oshima end 17. The ‘halicarnassus V’ 58,000 dwt built 09 china 4x30 got $11,5 mill, the ‘orient phoenix’ 55,000 dwt built 07 japan 4x30.5 got $9,5 mill and the ‘federal franklin’ 55,000 dwt built 08 japan 4x30 ice class 1c got $10,9 mill. The ‘karaweik’ 55,000 dwt built 06 japan 4x30,5 got $8,3 mill, the ‘ocean eternity’ 50,000 dwt built 11 japan 4x30 got $9,5 mill and the ‘conrad oldendorf’ 95,000 dwt built 13 japan got $19 mill from cobelfret. The ‘epson trader’ 82,000 dwt built 09 japan fetched $13,5 mill, the ‘darya bhakti’ 56,000 dwt built 05 japan 4x31 got $8 mill and omicron paid $8 mill for the ‘medi venezia’ 76,000 dwt built 05 japan. Oldendorf paid $29 mill for the jinhai cape resale ex yard next month, ultrapetrol paid $12,5 mill for the ‘cathrin oldendorf’ 93,000 dwt built 11 china and songa paid $13,3 mill to secure the ‘maverick genesis’ 81,000 dwt built 10 korea, at auction. Eastmed bought another ship the oshima kamsarmax resale ex yard this year for $24,5 mill, winning spent $45,5 mill to buy enbloc the ‘dong a leto / dong a ether’ both 180,000 dwt built 10/11 respectively and two mini capes the ‘ n Buchanan / n Odessa’ both 114,000 dwt built 11/12 respectively got $13 mill each. The ‘new Caledonia maru’ 58,000 dwt built 13 philippines 4x30 got $14,75 mill, the ‘trading fabrizia’ 37,000 dwt built 11 korea 4x35 achieved $9 mill from thalkat and evalend spent $9,5 mill to buy the ‘kronos island’ 28,000 dwt built 13 japan 4x30.

Let finish off with the wet sales..  Metrostar sold its last two VLCC resales to onassis for shade above $80 mill! SCI paid $31 mill for the ‘aegean navigator’ 160,000 dwt built 07 korea, two stainless steel tankers namely the ‘fairchem fresian / fairchem charger’ both 21,000 dwt built 09 japan got $21,5 mill each from tufton and the ‘shin ei’ 106,000 dwt built 02 japan got $11 mill from eurotankers with SS due. The ‘cpo japan / cpo korea’ both 51,000 dwt built 09/10 respectively korea got $36 mill enbloc while seaworld paid $27 mill to acquire enbloc the ‘high endurance / high endeavour’ both 46,000 dwt built 04 korea with 4 years TC back. Leon shipping paid $15,7 mill to buy the ‘gandhi’ 40,000 dwt built 08 korea.
