I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer! I am sure that the tanker and VLGC owners had a really special one…

Lets begin from the recent newbuilding orders. Yangzijian shipping has ordered eight 1,100 teu containers and another eight 36,000 dwt bulkers in yangzijiang for delivery in 17 and 18! Norden sold three supramax newbuilds ex imabari and mitsui and they have re ordered the newer design from mitsui for later dates while wisdom has returned to Kawasaki for one more 55k nb. Sinoasia has agreed with jiangmen nanyang to build four 39,000 dry handies costing $21,5 mill apiece while oshima won an order for two 34,000 dwt laker bulkers.

Komaya agreed with asakawa yard to construct two 20,000 cbm LPG ships while Tokyo marine has ordered three 23,000 dwt stainless ships in shin kurushima, four 35,000 dwt same type ships in kitanihon and two more in shin kurishima making 9 chem ships in total! Nine new contracts for VLCC’s have been signed in japan! Mitsui did three at their own yard, nissen ordered two in mitsui, iino and K line ordered one each at JMU while MOSK took two at the same yard…

Lets move on with the 2^nd hand dry sales. Cobelfret paid $30 mill for the ‘houheng 2’ 180,000 dwt built 11 hanjin subic while greeks paid $22,2 mill to aquire enbloc the ‘torm anholt/ torm bornholm’ 74,000 dwt built 04 japan. Nova paid $9,5 mill for the ‘aristo river’ 33,000 dwt built 05 japan 4x30 and marmaras paid $37 mill for the ‘churchill bulker’ 180,000 dwt built 11 hyundai. Ultrabulk paid $15 mill for the ‘umberto damato’ 93,000 dwt built 11 china while a 82,000 dwt kamsarmax resale ex tsuneishi cebu got $28 mill. The ‘pinchat’ 82,000 dwt built 12 huyndai with electronic ME got $21,5 mill and two sainty 64,000 dwt resales 4x45 got $19 mill each. The ‘pacific wind’ 28,000 dwt built 07 4x30 fetched $9 mill while ZPMC paid $9 mill for the ‘north fortune III’ 90,000 dwt built 2000 japan. The two restis panamaxes ‘ ostende max / Antwerp max’ both 73,000 dwt built 98 japan got $9 mill enbloc while a Jiangsu hantong supramax resale 63k got $23 mill from siva! The box holds ‘shirakami’ 52,000 dwt built 08 japan 4x30 got $11 mill while the ‘bao zhu hai’ 180,000 dwt built 04 japan got $19 mill. frontline paid $22 mill for the ‘BBG diamond’ 81,000 dwt just delivered china while the ‘skomvaer’ 58,000 dwt built 10 china got $13 mill. The ‘port mouton’ 53,000 dwt built 05 china got $7 mill from st Michael shipping while the ‘ocean chie’ 52,000 dwt built 03 japan got $8 mill!

Lets finish off with the wet sales. Teekay paid $662 mill to aquire enbloc 12 suezmaxes from princimar, the majority built in korea between 05 and 13! The ‘SCF valdai’ 160,000 dwt built 03 has been sold for $35 mill while the ‘maxwell bay’ 50,000 dwt built 12 china coated got $30 mill and the ‘halsted bay’ 51,000 dwt built 07 korea coated got $24 mill. The CPO korea / CPO japan’ both 51,000 dwt built 09/10 korea, epoxy got $57 mill enbloc while the ‘fairchem mustang’ 20,000 dwt built 03  japan, stainless got $16 mill.
