Happy new year to all, lets hope that 2018 will bring more joy to us!

 Lets begin from the new orders front. Its been a long time since we have reported so many newbuilds…CDB ordered five option five 208,000 dwt bulkers at yangzijiang for $47 mill each and will all go for 5 year charters to Cargill!

Lemissoler agreed with new times to build eight firm ultramaxes including additional options, costing $26 mill each while NSU ordered a third 400k dwt LNG ready VLOC from JMU!

Panocean agreed with new times to build six VLOC newbuilds costing $74 mill each for long charters to Vale!

 Ugland ordered two ultramaxes, one from tsuneishi cebu and one from sanoyas costing $24 mill each while Mitsubishi corp ordered a 37,000 dwt handy from saiki.

Fujian ocean went to wuchan for three option five kamsarmaxes while bocomm leasing went to chenxi for six similar sized vessels! Itochu ordered two 34,000 dwt handies at hakodate while wisdom agreed to build one kamsarmax at JMU!

SWS won additional two options from anangel for two newcastlemaxes costing abt $47,5 mill each while foremost went to the same yard to exercise two options for capes and ordered  additional two newcastlemaxes for $47 mill apiece! 2020 bulkers exercised options for two newcastlemaxes at new times for $44,5 mill each while wisdom ordered two ultramaxes at dalian cosco yard costing $26 mill each.

 Bohai won orders for nine newcastlemaxes from berge bulk, fredriksen and RGL, costing $45 mill each.

 Cosco ordered six kamsarmaxes at Tianjin while Lavinia went to penglai for three option one kamsarmaxes costing $25 mill each!

Kanellakis also went to yangzijiang for four kamsarmaxes while china seacon ordered two similar ships at CSSC Huangpu.

TK agreed with Samsung to declared two options for suezmax DP2 shuttle LNG fueled tankers costing $136 mill each while STX managed to get refund guarantees for six MR’s ordered by Kanellakis and Dragnis.

 Eastmed also ordered similar ships at HMD costing abt $34 mill each. Embirikos ordered a single VLCC at DSME costing $82 mill while sinokor went to HHI for two similar vessels, Hyundai glovis also went for a single VLCC for Caltex business and enesel exercised one option for a VLCC making them 4 in total for this owner!

NYK ordered two VLCC’s at JMU while MOSK ordered one such ship at mitsui. Cosco energy  ordered two VLCC’s at dalian cosco costing $80 mill each while SNS ordered three crude panamaxes at GSI. Goldwin went to chenxi for two option two MR’s.

Lets continue with the 2^nd hand dry sales. JP morgan paid $43,5 mill for the ‘chancy’ 182,000 dwt built 15 japan, the ‘CPO europe’ 180,000 dwt built 10 korea got $25 mill and the ‘king robert’ 170,000 dwt built korea 08 got $17 mill. zodiac paid $26 mill for the ‘CPO asia’ 180,000 dwt built 11 korea while the ‘CPO america’ 180,000 dwt built 10 korea got $25 mill. oldendorff paid $80 mill to acquire enbloc the ‘UBC /Ottawa/olimbus/oristano/odessa’ all 118,000 dwt built 11 china. The ‘golden heiwa’ 77,000 dwt built 07 japan got $13,5 mill while pola paid $20 mill enbloc for the ‘long lucky/long cheer’ both 37,000 dwt built 12/13 respectively 4x30 china. The ‘trans shanghai’ 92,000 dwt built 10 china got $16 mill, the ‘americana’ 91,000 dwt built 10 korea for $15,5 mill and the ‘essence of seatrek’ 63,000 dwt built 15 china 4x36 got $21,5 mill. the ‘voge entreprise’ 80,000 dwt built 11 china got $15 mill while the ‘rose balsam’ 55,000 dwt built 11 japan 4x30 got $16 mill.

Lets finish off with the tanker sales. the ‘meandros’ 310,000 dwt built 2000 korea sent for $19,5 mill to evalend, the ‘arion’ 310,000 dwt built 01 korea went for $22, 5mill and the ‘flandre’ 305,000 dwt built 04 korea went to modec for $45 mill basis long subs! Enesel paid $44,5 mill for an afra resale ex HHI while the ‘cenito/posilipo’ both 50,000 dwt built 09/10 china got $36 mill enbloc. Last but not least The ‘advance victoria’ 75,000 dwt built 06 japan for $13, 5mill.
