The summer is finishing and most people are optimistic for Q4 of this year and Q1 of 2015!

Lets begin, as always from the Newbuildings front. Fortescue have increased their order of VLOC’s to 8 ships in YZG whereas the same yard is rumoured to have won orders for 10 kamsarmaxes (6 of which are geared) costing $34 mill for the geared and $32 mill for the gearless units! KC maritime agreed with COSCO to build two kamsarmaxes and two ultramaxes for $31,5 mill and $27 mill each ship respectively but the impressive news are that jin hai belonging to the GCL group have won orders for 30 newcastlemaxes worth $1,8 billion, each costs $59 mill,10 of which are firm orders from AMK securities! Hong qiang was approached by navibulgar to build four option two 42,000 dwt bulkers whereas Cosco zhoushan won an order for two ultramaxes costing $28 mill apiece. DSME is building six 19,000 teu mega containers for china’s bank of communications financial leasing, costing about $150 mill each for long charter to MSC! Samsung has ageed to build three option three 19,200 teu mega containers for scorpio also for long charter to MSC at a cost of $155 mill per ship! Dae sun won an order for four 1000 teu containers for a hong kong owner and another two similar ships for nam sung shipping.

Nova shipping have approached taizhou sanfu for four option two 34,000 dwt imo II products whereas sungdong added one more LR1 from far eastern owners. HMD received an order for the worlds largest asphalt carrier of abt 37,000 dwt costing $50 mill and HHI agreed to build two option two shuttle tankers of 160,000 dwt for knutsen-NYK for long charter to BG and costing $125 mill each!

Lets continue with the 2^nd hand dry transactions. The ‘lowlands nello’ 76,000 dwt built 05 japan fetched $17,3 mill while the ‘michelle damato’ 76,000 dwt built 05 japan got $18 mill from vita shipmangement. The ‘alam aman II’ 47,000 dwt built 01 4x30 japan got $12,2 mill whereas the ‘blue cho oyu’ 180,000 dwt built 11 korea got $51 mill possibly from carval. The ‘navios titan’ 82,000 dwt built 05 japan got $18 mill from ionic but the ‘lan hai jin xiu’ 79,000 dwt built 14 china got $22,5 mill from new shipping. LMZ paid $18 mill for the ‘stavropol’ 56,000 dwt built 12 china whereas the ‘red iris’ 75,000 dwt built 03 japan got $15,7 mill. The ‘silver surfer’ 180,000 dwt built 2013 korea got $54 mill from Cargill and the ‘alianca orient’ 52,000 dwt built 06 4x30 japan got $18 mill from great eastern.

Lets finish off with the 2^nd hand tanker sales. Polembros paid $65 mill for the 2013 built ‘cap isabella’ 157,000 dwt korea while PNSC paid $34 mill for the ‘ambelos’ 105,000 dwt built 06 japan. Indonesians paid $12,5 mill for the ‘green stars’ 36,000 dwt built 01 korea while the ‘moscow’ 106,000 dwt built japan got $12 mill. Onassis paid $70 mill to acquire enbloc the ‘enrica lexie’ and ‘ DT providence’ both 105,000 dwt built 08 china.last but not least the ‘ulriken’ 310,000 dwt built 98 korea got $27 mill from conversion buyers while the ‘DS victory’ 300,000 dwt built 01 korea got $34 mill from moundreas.
