Without doubt the news of the month are that scoprio after ordering 52 product tankers in korea are now ordering close to 30 ultramaxes in china for a separate company to be dry focused! In addition scorpio tankers has ordered five option five VLGC’s costing $74 mill apiece in Hyundai and Daewoo to ‘play’ the booming gas markets and the US shale gas revolution!!!

Damico in JV with coeclerici have agreed with oshima to build two option two 60,000 dwt bulkers while golden ocean agreed with chenxi to build three option three 64,000 dwt bulkers and greathorse shipping also ordered three option three similar ships at the same yard! Conti reederei went to hantong for eight option twelve 64,000 dwt bulkers while sammok of korea ordered two option two similar ships at new times! Lomar went to cosco zhoushan for two option two option two, once more, 64,000 dw bulkers while marine capital went to sinopacific to declare one more option for similar ship making their order a total of four firm vessels. Nisshin agreed with jiangmen nanyang for four 39,000 dwt bulkers costing $21 mill each while visentini agreed with AVIC to build two option two 38,000 dwt bulkers and globeco agreed with the same yard to build one option one similar ships! Baoyuan went to chenxi for two 64,000 dwt bulkers and belships went to imabari for two 61,000 dwt ships.

On the tankers side American petroleum tankers agreed with NASSCO to build four option four 51,000 dwt products with dual fuel capability for jones act trades while alterna capital placed four orders for 50,000 dwt products at Hyundai mipo and capital maritime went for four option four similar ships in Samsung Ningbo yard!

Lets move on with the 2^nd hand dry transactions. The ‘florence lily’ 82,000 dwt built 09 jap got $22 mill while the ‘euro trader’ 76,000 dwt built 09 jap was bought by frangistas for $22,5 mill. The ‘power steel’ 75,000 dwt built 99 jap got $10,7 mill, the ‘royal phoenix’ 52,000 dwt built 03 jap 4x30 fetched $15,5 mill and the ‘ocean adventure’ 52,000 dwt built 05 jap 4x30 got $18 mill. The ‘kristin picer’ 48,000 dwt built 01 jap 4x30 got $12,5 mill while the ‘atlantic princess’ 180,000 dwt built 03 jap fetched $21 mill with SS due. Chinese paid $15 mill for the ‘star fortune’ 170,000 dwt built 99 jap while the ‘red seto’ 75,000 dwt built 02 jap got $13,8 mill. The ‘lancelot’ 56,000 dwt built 05 jap 4x30 achieved $19 mill while the ‘mineral sines’ 170,000 dwt built 02 korea got $20 mill. Greeks  paid $31 mill for a kamsarmax resale ex tsuneishi zhoushan while titan spent $14,3 mill for the ‘navios cielo’ 75,000 dwt built 03 jap. The ‘excalibur’ 73,000 dwt built 99 jap got $10,7 mill, the ‘darya shakti’ 56,000 dwt built 04 jap 4x30 fetched $18,1 mill while the ‘clipper faith’ 30,000 dwt built 98 prc 4x25 got sold at auction for $6,5 mill! Lets finish off with the tanker sales. The ‘overseas maremar’ 47,000 dwt built 98 jap epoxy got $9,5 mill while two shin-A 45,000 dwt marineline deepwell chem. tankers got $35 mill each basis delivery this month. The ‘auva’ 37,000 dwt epoxy built Hyundai mipo just delivered got $30,5 mill while the VLCC ‘eagle vienna’ built 04 korea got $37 mill. The ‘cape banks’ 32,000 dwt built 97 russia got $7,5 mill while the ‘eagle phoenix’ 106,000 dwt built 98 jap got $8,5 mill. The ‘stavanger viking’ 105,000 dwt built 04 jap got $22 mill from ultragas and the ‘sichem defender’ 20,000 dwt built 07 jap stainless fetched also $22 mill.
